[STORY] Hello Goodbye

“No!

 Felix, you can’t leave me!” Tears started pouring down on her cheeks. “You can’t! You’ve promised me! Morgana, do something! Please!” Her sobbing was uncontrollable. She held his hand tightly.

Morgana looked at her. There’s nothing that she can do now. It’s his choice. She looked at Haley and Felix impassively. Adam came forward and tries to pull Haley away from Felix.

“No! Let me go! He can’t go! He promised me! We made a promise!” Haley fought to free herself from Adam’s hold. Adam let her go. Something inside him hurt when he heard what Hales had just said.

“Felix,” Haley sobbed. She holds his hand and looked at him; his skin is unusually pale and his silhouette is almost transparent. He smiled weakly at her. He got up from his bed. Haley hugged him.

“Don’t cry, Haley,” he said. His voice is diminishing. “I’m not dying,” He can feel that her arms around him tightened. He pushed Haley away, softly. “Okay, now I’m dying. I can’t breathe,”

Haley laughed. Little that she knew that he just charmed her to be calm. She can’t feel his aura because she’s numbed by her own feelings. Tears still fell down to her cheeks but she’s a lot calmer now.

“Don’t cry,”

“Don’t go,” Haley whispered.

“I’ll always be here,” he said softly. Haley looked at the place where he pointed; her heart.

“I can’t feel you, Felix. You’re touching me, but I can’t feel you,” Haley sobbed once again. Felix’s charm didn’t last long.

She tried to hold him but she can’t. Her hands went straight through his now-transparent body. Felix started to vanish slowly, from bottom.

“It’s okay. I’ll always be right here with you,”

“No! I can stop this! I can stop this!” Haley became hysterical. She stood up, facing Felix. “Rivertas phesmantos mi otem ex electo. Rivertas phesmantos….. “

“HALEY!” Adam yelled. Haley collapsed before she could finish the spell. He runs towards her and hold her in his arms. Morgana has stopped her from using divus.

“Thank you,” said Felix to the dark angel.

“I’ll see you soon,” she replied with a hint of smile.

“Can I touch her for the last time?” he asked Adam. Adam brought her to him. Felix’s managed to stroke her hair before his arms disappear.

“Please look after her,” he said to Adam.

Haley feels something warm touching her forehead. When she opens her eyes, she only caught a glimpse of Felix’s smile before he disappears completely in front of her eyes.

“NO! NO! NO!!!” She cried out loud. “FELIX!”

3 years later…

“HALEY!”

“HALEY!”

“HALEY!”

She stands there, near the stage. Peeking behind the heavy curtain, she can see waves of people inside the stadium chanting her name.

“Hey,” Someone tap her shoulder. Haley jumps a bit. She turns to look at that person; Adam. “Sorry I didn’t mean to…”

“Nah, its okay,” She smiles at him. “I’m just nervous,”

Adam look at her closely. Yes, she’s nervous. Those hazel eyes are not the same after the incident. They are more intense, passionate but at the same time… lonely; almost empty.

“You can do this. I’m here with you. Your fans are here for you,” he takes a deep breath and continues, “He’s here with you,” He smiles at her. Forced.

“Thanks, Adam,” she hugs him and give him a peck kiss on his cheek.

“Miss Haley, we’ll start in 15 minutes. Please be ready. We’ll call you in your room when the time comes,” someone shouts from behind.

“Okay, I’m going,” she shouts back. “See you on the stage,” she says to Adam before hurrying to the backstage.

“All the best!” Adam shouts at her. He sends her off until she’s out of his sight and he let out a heavy sigh.

“You haven’t made any progress yet?” asks a voice, directly behind him. He almost jumps out of his skin.

“Bloody hell, Morg. That’s not funny,” He let out a deep breath. “I almost died,”

“Progress?” asks Morgana, not feeling sorry.

“I can’t. She won’t let me in. She won’t let anyone in,” Adam says. “I can see it in her eyes. She only sees him. There’s no one for her, except him,” 

Adam feels something lurching inside him. It hurts but he’s used to it now. He won’t force her to forget that person. He will wait for her. He will be there for her through everything. He’s going to win her over, fair and square.

‘Go tell her what you’re thinking just now, you idiot!’ Morgana’s voice echoed through his subconscious.

“I hate it when you do that,”

“Just tell her. Let her know that you’re here for her. She’ll never know if you’ll never tell,”

“But…”

“You’re scared that she’s going to reject you?”

“No,” he hesitate.

“Then, go,” Morgana snaps her finger and …

“Adam! What are you doing here?! I’m changing my clothes!”

“I… I…”

“Don’t look, okay? Stay where you are,” Haley orders him. Adam feels relieved when he realizes that he’s facing the door. That little devil! She could’ve teleport him outside Haley’s changing room!

“Okay, I’m done. You can look now. Morgana must’ve sent you here,” she says, laughing a bit.

“Well, yeah,” he sounds relived.

“So, what’s up? I haven’t had much time,” Haley tells him. She’s putting few accessories on herself.

‘It’s now or never, Adam,’ Morgana’s voice speaks through his subconscious, once again. 

‘Shut up, Morg! I’ll do this alone,’ he replies to her through his head. ‘Don’t spy on me… I mean… US! I’ll tell you later, okay?’ he adds. He can feel that his head is a bit lighter now. Morgana’s gone.

“Can you help me with this necklace?” Haley asks. She’s facing the prep table with three big, curved mirrors facing her.

“Sure,” He comes near her and helps her with it. “This is the one that he gave you, right?” he asks her. He notices from the mirror that Haley blushes faintly.

“Yeah,” she answers quietly. ‘Crap! He noticed it? I thought guys are forgetful?’ They both remain silence.

“It’s been three years, huh?” Adam breaks the muteness between them once he’s done with the necklace.

“Yeah,” her voice croaked. She plays with the cat icon attached to the necklace with her little fingers. She can feel Felix’s warmth and she can almost hear his laughs. It feels like it was yesterday when he had…… disappeared. She still can feel his kiss on her forehead; their first and last kiss.

“Haley,” Adam’s voice pulls her back to reality.

She is stunned when Adam’s arms embrace her from behind.

“Haley,” he whispers softly. They remain like that for few seconds before he let her go. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that,” he apologizes. “Well, say something,” Adam continues when Haley remains speechless.

“Why…?” Haley asks after she found her voice.

“I’ve… I’ve been holding myself ever since… that day,” he confessed. “I like you, and I know that you can’t stop thinking about him, but, he’s gone now,”

“He’s not gone,” Haley whispers slowly. She clasps her necklace tightly.

“Fine, he’s not gone. But, I won’t lose to someone who’s… gone,” He turns around facing the room and speaks loudly, “You hear that, Felix? I will take her from you because I can make her happy. I will always be there for her while you can’t,” He turns back to face Haley and look deep into her eyes, “… because I love her, Felix,” he says, slowly now.

“I will always be here for you, and will always wait for you,” he continues. “I’m sorry that I’m being selfish, but I have to let you know, at least,” he gives her a small smile; the saddest and painful smile that Haley never seen from him. Adam wipes tears that are pouring down to her cheeks before he left the room.

Haley didn’t even realize that she’s crying. Why is she crying in the first place? She knew the answer before she could even finish asking herself the question.

When she stands on the stage, the crowd stops chanting her name and starts to murmur to each other. They can see her face clearly on the big screen. Her eyes are red and they can see streaks of tears on her cheeks.

“Before we begin, I would like to thank you to all of you for coming. It means so much to me,” she says in a steady voice, much to their surprise.

“I would like to take this opportunity sing a song… a song that I…” her voice starts to turn hoarse. She takes a deep breath and continue, “… a song that I wrote three years ago when I lost someone that I… really like,”

And suddenly, she starts to sing, without any music to accompany her. Her voice is so beautiful, yet so sad when she sings the song.

“You came to me by coincidence and embraced me
and as we blankly gazed at each other, you said goodbye
